April Update - 11 Months

Hi everyone!

Spring is here! We are enjoying the warmer weather and the longer days. Tyler has been able to enjoy going outside almost everyday the weather is nice. He has really thrived in his new class at daycare. He is eating table food exclusively, started walking, has learned new words, has cut almost four new teeth and is very social.

Tyler is enjoying new tastes almost everyday. He has two snacks and lunch each day at school. Tyler is a slow eater. He is always the last one to leave the table (at home and at school). Tyler has started walking. He would much rather have a finger to hold onto than walk by himself, even though he can walk by himself for at least 8-10 steps. Tyler's new word he really likes to say is ball. He also calls a balloon ball-eww. Everywhere we go he points to and tells us where all the balls and balloons are located. He has also said dog a few times when Logan or Sugar bark.

Tyler has had a painful few weeks because he is getting four of his top front teeth in at the same time. This will put him at a total of 6 teeth! Maybe his new teeth will speed him up eating at the table!

Tyler is such a sweet, loving boy. He waves to his friends and friendly smiling faces. He plays very well with his "best friend" and classmates at daycare. We also had fun at the Easter Egg hunt at his school. He was much more interested in playing than looking for the eggs.

Next month is Tyler's birthday. I have been looking back at pictures from when he was born. It is so amazing to see the changes within the first year of life. He has grown so much and learned so many things. Jason and I said the other day, we just don't remember life without him. He is such a blessing!

10 Months

Wow less than two months to Tyler's 1st Birthday! I can't believe it! There have been a few big changes this month. One big change is that Tyler moved up to the next class at daycare. He is in a room for the 10-18 month old babies. The good thing about this room is he has more room to play than in his infant room. The other good thing is that the room is divided in half, one side for 10-14 months the other 14-18. A big change for us is that he now sleeps on a cot! Jason and I were worried about his transition to the cot, but his first day in the class he had no trouble sleeping on the cot. It is so cute to see them laying on cots at this age! They almost all have a pacifier in their mouth and a blanket on this little toddler size cot. We had to go get Tyler's first pair of real soled shoes for this class. So he now has his first pair of tennis shoes! So cute to see him in his new shoes!

Tyler is doing pretty good eating table food. His favorite is definitely cheerios but loves saltines and goldfish crackers. His mobility has improved tremendously. We have a few pocket doors in the house that he has learned how to open. The dogs have been the victims of Tyler chasing after them around the den. He has moments where he is standing on his own before he falls down. His curiosity has really taken off and can sometimes get himself into trouble. Jason also wants me to announce that Tyler can play basketball on his toddler sized basketball goal! One of Tyler's new favorite things to play with is a balloon. Gigi and Papa gave Tyler a balloon for Valentine's and he absolutely loved it. Luckily it lasted for two weeks! So now everywhere we go he points to all the balloons.

It's a cold March day today and we are ready for warmer weather! We are definitely ready to be outside more and looking forward to more daylight!

9 Months Old

Hello Everyone!

This is a little late that my normal monthly posts. Jason and I have both been very busy with work since the first of the year. Tyler has been busy as well! Tyler is crawling all over the place. He pulls up on everything he can get to and is now starting to cruise along the side of the furniture. Tyler has cut his first two bottom teeth and is working on the top two.

Tyler loves to dance to music. He bounces, swayes back and forth and moves his arms in the air. He will sometimes sing too! He is also talking a lot. He carries on conversations with us all the time. He definitely knows who is "mama" and who is "dada".

A cute new thing he is doing is playing peak-a-boo with us. He will take his blanket and pull it over his head and quickly pull it down and waits for us to say peak-a-boo. He also can wave when someone says hi or bye-bye. He has also started to point at things that he wants.

We hope everyone is doing well! We are ready for the spring and being able to spend more time outside!

Happy New Year!

Tyler turns eight months the same day Jason turns 30! Happy Birthday Jason!

We had a wonderful Christmas watching Tyler play with the pretty bows, paper and boxes. He enjoyed reaching under the tree for the bows on the presents. Tyler has enjoyed all of his presents, but especially the balls, cars and trucks he received.

This month Tyler has been on the move. He started earlier this month doing an Army crawl. Christmas Eve night Tyler started crawling! He started crawling really well only a few days later. He crawls all over the place and is also pulling up on the sofa, chairs and any one's legs. He also started clapping. It was so funny at Christmas Eve service with Tyler. He was passed up and down the pew the entire service. When everyone stopped applauding after someone had performed, Tyler started clapping his hands and said what sounded to be a "yea". He was really good for the hour long service and not once did he get upset.

We took Tyler today to get his first haircut. Tyler's hair was getting so long that it was down to his eyes. We took him to my hairdresser for a trim. He was so good while he was getting his hair trimmed! He was a hit with the ladies!

We have definitely had a wonderful 2007! We only hope that 2008 will bring just as much joy, blessings and fun!

Tyler at 7 months!

Another month has gone by so fast! Tyler is such a busy boy now. He is constantly on the move and uses whoever is holding him as a jungle gym. Tyler has been teething but no teeth have cut through. It is funny to watch him rub his gums with his tongue. He is constantly sticking out his tongue! We are not sure if Tyler is going to be a big crawler. He would rather be standing than on his belly. When Tyler is playing on the floor and is ready to stand up, he rolls over to our legs and starts to pull up. He hasn't mastered this on his own yet, but I'm sure that will come soon. He continues his baby babble, but he definitely knows mama and calls his bottle ba ba.

Tyler enjoyed his first Thanksgiving. Aunt Rachel came home from Florida. This was the first time she had seen him since he was a month old. Tyler had a good time and took his first carousel ride with Aunt Rachel. We went to Atlanta for Thanksgiving and enjoyed seeing Aunt Liz, Aunt Catherine, Mimi and Papa. We took Tyler to Lake Lanier for the Christmas lights. He had a great time looking at the light displays. We were all impressed at his attention span during the 6 miles of lights.

We took our annual trip to the Christmas Tree Farm and found a beautiful White Pine. Tyler has enjoyed watching us decorate the house for Christmas. He wants to touch and put everything in his mouth! We are excited about this Christmas season. We find ourselves singing carols and hymns to Tyler all the time. He enjoys the music, lights and decorations. This year will be much more special with Tyler.

Tyler is 6 Months Old!

This month has flown by so fast! Tyler is sitting up very well on his own. He leans all the way to the ground and can pull himself back up again. He is grabbing everything within his reach. He is also getting ready to crawl. He gets up on all fours but those arms just aren't strong enough. Babbling started full strength this month. He is saying "ba ba ba ba" and "ma ma ma ma", I'm not saying that he is actually saying mama, but it sounds like it! His favorite thing to do is standing up. If you want to put him down but he isn't ready, he will keep his body stiff just to stay standing!

We all had fun on Halloween handing out candy to the neighborhood kids. We even stopped by a few of our neighborhood friends. We strolled over to Tyler's daycare friend for a visit. It was funny to see both of their faces when they saw each other. They stared at each other and realized that they knew each other and started to kick their feet and smile. It was cute to watch!

We are looking forward to Thanksgiving and Christmas! We hope to see everyone soon!

Five Month Update

I know I keep saying this, but it is so amazing to watch Tyler changing! This month Tyler started eating rice cereal and Stage 1 baby foods. His first baby food was sweet peas, also a nickname I have for Tyler. He absolutely loved eating the sweet peas and we will start another vegetable tomorrow. He is such a good eater! We can't feed him fast enough. He also enjoys sitting in his high chair while being fed.

Tyler is rolling around all the time. We can't turn our back on him without him being across the room! He just started sitting on his own over the past week! At Tyler's 4 month check up he weighed in at 16 lbs 15 oz and was 26.5 inches long. That placed him at the 90th percentile in both weight and height! We went back to the doctor today to check up on his ear infection, both ears are clear, and he now weighs 17 pounds 12 oz.

We went to Tate Farms with Gigi to pick a pumpkin from the pumpkin patch. Tyler pet the bunnies and pigs and had a fun time watching the animals. We took a hayride to the pumpkin patch and when we started walking in the field, Tyler really became excited and started kicking his feet! He just loves being outside!
